Deputy Secretary-General of the DCHQ Eng. Taha Taheri said the seizures of the synthetic drugs have declined by 442 percent.
The crimes committed by the users of synthetic drugs including the amphetamine-type stimulants and other psychotropic substances are more destructive than the crimes committed by those addicted to traditional narcotic drugs, he noted at an interview with the ISNA news agency on the sidelines of a ceremony on the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking in Tehran.
The ice (amphetamines) disturbs the physical and psychological balance of the users and is highly addictive, he said adding that no effective and definite treatment method has been found yet for the ice addicts.
