Qatari Minister of State for Internal Affairs Sheikh Ahmad Bin Naser Jasem al-Thani said here on Sunday that the recent report by IAEA Director General Mohamed ElBaradei on Iran's peaceful nuclear activities was hailed by many countries round the globe.
The Qatari minister made the remarks in a joint press conference with Iran's Interior Minister Mostafa Pour-Mohammadi on Sunday.
"Qatar believes that Iran is authorized to take advantage of peaceful nuclear energy," he said.
It is among the grave responsibilities of countries in the region to contribute to the restoration of security in the region, he said adding that there is no doubt that this grave responsibility should be shouldered by countries in the region.
"During my visit to Tehran, we had constructive talks with President Ahmadinejad as well as other high ranking officials on expansion of cooperation in security, campaign against terrorism and drug trafficking," he said.
"Iran has a good experience in security affairs and we hope to benefit from the country's achievement in this field," he said.
