This is the first time the border is being demarcated over the past 100 years. The project aims to promote security by fighting drugs smuggling into Iran. It will also have economic benefits and will encourage development in both countries, the statement added. The project is estimated to cost over 3.2 million dollars. The demarcation will be registered by the United Nations after completion, according to the statement.
