Denmark urges talks on Iran's N-case Danish State Secretary Michael Zilmer-Johns has urged diplomacy to find a solution to the current standoff over Iran's nuclear issue. In a meeting on Friday with Iran's Ambassador to Denmark, Mohammad-Reza Morshedzadeh, the Danish official said that Tehran had an indisputable right to use nuclear energy for peaceful purposes and expressed hope that the outstanding issues regarding Iran's nuclear activities would be addressed through negotiations. Iran and the European Union have common interests in the Middle East, particularly in Iraq and Afghanistan, he added. The Danish official welcomed Iran-Denmark cooperation on the fight against drug trafficking. Morshedzadeh, for his part, said the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) was the only body entitled to deal with Iran's nuclear case. He described as 'positive' the recent agreements between Iran and the IAEA and expressed Tehran's readiness to cooperate with the UN nuclear watchdog within the framework of the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) to resolve the outstanding 'ambiguities'.
