Tehran, Oct 27, IRNA - Head of the Strategic Research Center of the Expediency Council Ali-Akbar Velayati warned about terrorist groups' penetration into the Central Asian countries.

He made the remarks in a meeting with Sergei Ivanov a former advisor to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Regional states should not be indifferent towards unrests in the Central Asian states, Velayati added.

He said that drug trafficking provides part of terrorists' income.

Referring to the terrorist groups' efforts for penetrating into the central Asia, the official said that regional states including Iran, Russia and China should not be indifferent towards terrorists' plan for provoking unrests in the region.

Drug trafficking is increasing in Afghanistan despite US promise to eliminate it, said Velayati.
