European, Asian attaches hail Iran anti-narcotic drive

Moscow, Oct 10, IRNA - The military and police attaches from European and Asian countries hailed Iran as the pioneer country in the fight against narcotics.

Representative from 60 countries including Belgium, France, Spain, India, Pakistan, and Russia attended a function to mark the Police Day in Iranian Embassy in Moscow.

'Security cooperation between Iran and Russia as well as in the fight against narcotic trafficking in the Caspian Sea is of great of importance,' Iranian Ambassador Mehdi Sanaei said at the event.

'Cooperation between Iranian Law Enforcement Force and Russian Federal Drug Control Service is an example to be followed in the bilateral ties and has led to great achievements in fighting the trafficking bands,' he added.

Advisor to the head of Russian Federal Drug Control Service, Nikolai Yugrashenkov, supported Iran's anti-drugs operation and said, 'Relations between Iran and Russia help us to carry out our deuties effectively in the fight against narcotics trafficking.'

'The climax of the understanding to cooperate effectively in this regard lies in the Clean Caspian Sea plan to fight drugs trafficking in the sea,' he added.

Iran's police attache to Moscow, Fereydoun Nasiri, was awarded the trophy of Collective Security Treaty Organization by member states -- Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
