Islamic Republic of Iran and UK review world drug problem

"DCHQ Director General for International Relations, Ambassador Bayat and British chargé d’affaires in Tehran met on Monday, 21September 2015. Ambassador Bayat briefing the Nation Comprehensive and Balanced Strategy on drug problem and achievements in this regard, added that due to a very close bond between drug traffic and other transnational organized crimes such as human traffic, money laundering … no country should be considered immune from negative consequences of drug and drug related crime, above all Afghanistan- as main illicit drug producer country in the world- and the west - final rewarding consumption market.


Director General for International Relations of the DCHQ explaining the country capacities on supply reduction as well demand reduction emphasized on the necessity of international collaboration to curb the world drug problem- regardless the marginal considerations and without any preconditions- based on the principle of shared responsibility.


British charge d'affaires in Tehran, noted that purpose of the meeting was to be informed of the Iranian viewpoints on regional and international cooperation against illicit drug traffic".
