Terrorists behind drug trafficking in Iran: Interior minister

Tehran, Sept 14, IRNA - Terrorists are behind major trend of drug trafficking in Iran and it is a source of money for them, Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli said on Monday.

Speaking in a local ceremony, he noted that cultivation of poppyt in Afghanistan has increased.

Referring to the security problems in Afghanistan, he said that fighting drug trafficking is not the first priority of Afghan government because of internal problems.

The official called for boost of security and controls in eight border provinces in West and East of the country.
