Tehran, March 13, IRNA – The 57th session of UN Commission on Narcotics Drugs attended by Iranian Interior Minister Abdol Reza Rahmani-Fazli opened in Vienna Thursday.
According to Public Relations Department of Anti-Drug Headquarters, the today meeting aims to review programs and objectives envisaged in UN political communiqué and action plan approved in 2009.
Challenges and measures taken by countries regarding anti-drug campaign and offering an approach for the UN Special Summit salted to be held in 2016 are among other topics of discussion during the ongoing meeting in which 1,500 high-ranking officials and minister- and deputy minister-level experts from 40 countries are participating.
During the earlier session of UN Commission on Narcotics Drugs held in 2009, it was agreed the high-ranking officials convene during March 13-14, 2014 to study challenges facing the UN political communiqué and action plan.
