Referring to this matter that charitable and trustworthy people of society can work through establishment of NGO's in the area of therapy, prevention and protection of addicts; Iran's Interior Minister Rahmani Fazli said: according to conducted research, 63% of addicts to be married, 52% to be employed, and more than 75% of them have diploma degree to up. Which this issue is an indicative of narcotic drugs complexity and anymore we can't say that poverty, unemployment and celibacy are the main factors of addiction.

He considered wife molestation, child molestation and rape as the consequences of addiction and said: the cause of 50% of divorces in the country is due to addicted to narcotics. Secretary General of Drug control headquarters said: annually, in the world more than one- thousand million dollars and accordingly three million dollars of economic costs in the country are related to narcotics.

Noting to the high variety of drug narcotics, Interior Minister added: for example, in the past, further opium used as medicine but now the high variety of drug narcotics considered as a dangerous factor.

He said; increase of concentration, remedy of stress and depression, decrease and increase of weight, remedy of sexual failures and so on are among the incorrect cases in introducing of properties related narcotic drugs consumption; and drug smugglers through this method of propaganda, cause misconception among the people and persuade them towards using drug narcotics.

Interior Minister added: now, 300 thousand (persons) are working as an effective group in the field of psycho analysis for curing addiction (detoxification), and within a week convene 16 or 17 meeting, but we still lag behind in preventing addiction.
